The UAE General Civil Aviation Authority and Etihad Airways Sing Agreement to enhance UAE air safety

The General Civil Aviation Authority, the aviation regulator for the UAE and Etihad Airways, the national carrier of the United Arab Emirates, and have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to enhance air safety through a series of collaborative measures. The agreement, signed by Captain Majed Al Marzouqi, Etihad’s Vice President Safety, Security and Quality, and Ahmed Al Jallaf, Assistant Director General Air Navigation Services, specifies increased cooperation between the airline and the authority’s Sheikh Zayed Air Navigation Centre to improve safety standards, quality monitoring and risk mitigation and management within UAE airspace. The agreement is also designed to increase the use by the two organizations of safety and compliance platforms that are unutilized or underutilized, and to work together to share and implement best practice. “The safety of our guests, our employees and our operations is of paramount importance to the Etihad Aviation Group,” said Captain Al Marzouqi. “The agreement we have signed today with the GCAA formalizes existing collaboration with the Sheikh Zayed Air Navigation Centre, and deepens the commitment of our organizations to share information, align practices and mutually adopt best practice. It also highlights the commitment of two key UAE aviation entities to work together to deliver safer skies in the most efficient ways.” “The GCAA is always keen to strengthen our partnership with our stakeholders like Etihad to improve safety standards, quality monitoring and risk mitigation and management within UAE airspace. Through this agreement, we will exchange our knowledge and experiences and work together to strengthen our position as a regional and global leader.” said Ahmed Al Jallaf, Assistant Director General of ANSP, GCAA. And he added “The agreement between Etihad and GCAA highlights the organizations’ unified commitments to a collaborative roadmap that will allow developments.
