The General Civil Aviation Authority of the United Arab Emirates and the Department of Civil Aviation of the Republic of Suriname have gathered in Dubai to initial the text of an Air Services Agreement and signed a Memorandum of Understanding. The Agreement reinforces the Strategy and Objectives of the GCAA in expanding economic and tourism links, as well as exploring investment opportunities and promoting trade exchange between countries of the world.
The Agreement was signed by HE Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri, Minister of Economy and Chairman of GCAA, and HE Vijay Jayant Chutkan, Minister of Public Works, Transport and Communications of the Republic of Suriname. The signing ceremony was attended by HE Saif Mohammed Al Suwaidi, Director General of GCAA, during which they discussed topics of common interest in the aviation sector and ways of cooperation between the two countries.
This Agreement contributes in strengthening ways of cooperation between the UAE and the Republic of Suriname to serve the common interest of both countries and enhance the status of the UAE worldwide. The United Arab Emirates occupies the first place Internationally in terms of the number of signed bilateral Air Services Agreements.
