GCAA Hosts Meeting of Gulf Cooperation Council Helicopter Safety Team (GCC HST)

03 March 2010 Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates: The UAE General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) hosted yesterday, 02 March 2010, the meeting of the Gulf Cooperation Council Helicopter Safety Team (GCC HST) in Crown Plaza Hotel, Yas Island, Abu Dhabi, which was attended by all helicopter operators in UAE, Qatar and KSA. The meeting was opened by Mr. Omar Ghaleb, Deputy Director General, GCAA. The meeting discussed the obstacles and factors affecting the safety of helicopter operations and methods to solve them in order to achieve the key goal of reducing helicopter accidents to 80% by the year 2016 in cooperation with the regional and international organizations working towards safe helicopter operations such as IHST, EHST and WRSI. ...
