Effective 1 November 2006, regulatory responsibility concerning all aspects of air navigation services transferred from the department of Air Navigation Services (the ANS service provider) to the Department of Aviation Security & Infrastructure.

A new regulatory section “ANA” has been created reporting directly to Director Aviation Security & Infrastructure.

A chief to the section has been appointed manange the activities of the ANA Section.

The new regulatory section will be responsible for the regulation and safety oversight of:

-  Air Space Planning & Design Approval
-  Air Traffic Services
-  ATCO Licenses
-  Communications, Navigation Aids and Surveillance equipment
-  Aeronautical Information Services
-  Aviation Meteorology
-  Search and Rescue
-  Aerodrome & Heliport Certification
